Sweet Comfort Band was a Christian band founded in 1973 by Bryan Duncan, lead vocalist-keyboardist, Kevin Thomson, bassist, and Rick Thomson, drummer-vocalist.
“When I Was Alone” first appeared on the 1977 “Sweet Comfort” studio album by Sweet Comfort Band, led by Bryan Duncan in the key of B major (B).

In 1973, Sweet Comfort Band was founded by Bryan Duncan, Kevin Thomson, and Rick Thomson.
In 1976, Randy Thomas joined Sweet Comfort Band on guitar and vocals.
In 1984, Sweet Comfort Band disbanded.
In 2001, Sweet Comfort Band reunited briefly to do four reunion concerts.
